ABOUT LOCAL 404

Building has always been a part of the history of central Pennsylvania from the Pennsylvania Canal to today''s power and energy plants. The Ironworkers Local Union No. 404 continues that tradition through a well-trained workforce for our signatory contractors.

First chartered in 1926, Local 404 encompasses 17 counties throughout central Pennsylvania - Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Huntingdon, Juniata, Mifflin, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder, Union, York and portions of Lancaster, Lebanon, Lycoming, Montour and Schuylkill Counties. We are more than 300 members who are proud of our trade and the work we complete.

We are a Local Union chapter of the
International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Ironworkers. We are also members of the Ironworkers District Council of Philadelphia and have taken a leadership role in various other organizations throughout central Pennsylvania.

You’ll find our work at the heart of a building’s structure. Our members erect the structural framework of buildings and also are essential in other projects, such as erecting bridges, reinforcing steel, blast furnaces, ornamental ironwork and power plants. Our skill set includes welding, sheeting and rigging all of which are taught by certified instructors in our training facility.

Local 404 uses its special skill set to give back to the community, donating time and labor to projects throughout the region.
